Rush hour.

I thought summer was going to be a chance to catch up on all the odd jobs and projects around the house. Instead, I find myself busier than ever. Someone still needs help with a summer homework packet, a website needs updating, birthday cards need making, a closet needs to be cleaned out, bills paid, papers filed, on and on.

When does MOM get a summer break?
As my about-to-be-15-year-old often texts: "UGH!"

Back when the kids were little and I worked part- time, this mom didn’t celebrate the first day of summer like my kids did.
While they skipped around happily on the last day of school, I pouted like a party pooper.

Latisse Update

Latisse update week 5: I think it's working. When I use my eyelash curler in the morning, the upper lashes seem longer. There are even a couple of lashes in the very middle that seem really long. I've placed a refill order from my Canadian online pharmacy. My first bottle lasted almost six weeks and cost 50% less than U.S. retail prices -- $46. Last time the scrip came from Allergan India via Frankfurt and took about 12 days to arrive. We'll see where it comes from this time.

Surprise showcase

Being a full-time working mom, I had to plan more than just a little to get away for a day in San Francisco with my friend Peta.

We were off to see the San Francisco Designer Showcase house, something I had always wanted to do. When else would I get the chance to see the inside of one of those Pacific Heights mansions?
