In the end.

It sucks doing a story about your friends. Oh, it starts out fun enough.
"What? Really! That’s amazing. Tell me more."
The news is fresh, it’s exciting. You’re in control. The story emerges and you bring it to life.

But then it gets serious.
"Why? How come?"
Or something goes wrong. Someone may get mad.

And you have to keep going even when it gets too personal. And they may want you to stop. Or turn it off.
But you can’t.
And in the end, you hope they understand.

Broke my heart at the Funplex!

PlanetClaire is very excited to announce she's headed to see the B-52s at the Mondavi fest on Saturday night! Big thanks to L Pierce Carson for squeezing me into the group and getting me a ticket.

I listened to my Funplex and B-52s party mix CDs on my way to and from Santa Rosa today. Nothing like a payday Friday and the B-52s to put you in a good mood!

Rush hour.

I thought summer was going to be a chance to catch up on all the odd jobs and projects around the house. Instead, I find myself busier than ever. Someone still needs help with a summer homework packet, a website needs updating, birthday cards need making, a closet needs to be cleaned out, bills paid, papers filed, on and on.

When does MOM get a summer break?
As my about-to-be-15-year-old often texts: "UGH!"
