Love. This. Handbag.

A little bit of Sex and the City has come to Napa! I interviewed a woman today who won the FABULOUS Eiffel Tower handbag from the movie SATC. In the movie Carrie wears the bag with some incredible designer gown, it may be Oscar de la Renta.
Isn't it the most amazing handbag you ever saw??? It is covered in Swarovski crystals and retails for more than $2,500. Wow!
I'll post the story on this bag next week. In the meantime, I had to take some photos of the purse for PlanetClaire.
If I had this purse I would make a special display case/pedestal with appropriate lighting and devote a corner of my home to display it properly. I would also happily loan it out to my purse-loving friends as needed.

Crowns!

Aren't these the cutest crown earrings ever???? They are faux antique gold with tiny pink rhinestones at the bottom of each mini crown. Even the back is cute -- like the top of a scepter. Bring on the crowns!!

Two weeks later...

Wow, where did the time go? I usually try to post once a week but one day it was July 6 and the next day it was July 20. Yikes! It's been busy but we are having a fun summer.
Allie and I were invited for a day in San Francisco here are pictures of our trip. We went to the Legion of Honor museum, a silent film festival in the Castro and lunch at the Cliff House.
An old relic of tourist days gone by is the Camera Obscura at the Cliff House. For $3 we entered. In it's heyday the optical device was likely quite a draw, but today it's mostly forgotten. But not on this trip! Equally interesting, and also mostly forgotten at the camera was one of the oldest Mac computers made. I guess at one time it ran some kind of show about the camera. No longer. Now it's real antique itself, just like the Camera Obscura.

The drinking fountain was at the Castro theater. Deluxe!

Make way for ducklings... and sea monkeys

From a party this afternoon at the small but quaint Napa Yacht Club on the Napa River. Instead of the boats, the girls were mostly interested in the ducks and the sea monkey (tiny shrimp like creatures) that they managed to catch. Annabelle is currently examining them under the microscope at home....

Miss America in July!

To my Miss America Sisters:
Check out this fabulous find at our local toy store! A "Miss America CRYSTAL baton"

Wow, how cool is THAT ??? Not only do I have a thing for Miss America, I also have a thing for baton twirling! I actually know how to twirl a baton! Oh, yes I do.

Now if they would just add baton twirling to the Olympics. I'm all for swimming and track but baton twirling -- THAT's a sport with some pizazz.

SegGirl

We are doing a story about a local family that is offering Segwey tours of the Valley and today they brought some over for us to try out! Fun, fun, fun! They are both easier and harder to ride than I expected. Easier because the Segwey is very intuitive to your balance. Harder because if you lean too far forward it really zips along. If I look stiff in these pictures its because I was! I was doing fine in the parking lot but going over sidewalks and crossing streets was a little bit scary... FYI - each costs about $5,000.
