Miss America 2010 ?

At this moment, 53 young women in Las Vegas are being primped and primed to within an inch of their lives for tonight’s crowning of America’s Sweetheart -- our Miss America.
Me? I’m sitting here wearing my cleaning clothes and smelling like the fresh scent of Pine Sol and Windex after our weekly house cleaning. I’m feeling sooooo G L A M O R O U S right now.

My Miss America Top 10 predictions:

Miss Michigan
Miss Oregon
Miss California
Miss Puerto Rico
Miss New York
Miss Virginia
Miss Oklahoma
Miss North Carolina
Miss Hawaii
Miss Texas

Miss America fun fact: According to Clinton Kelly from last night’s Miss America pre-show more Miss America’s have won the title wearing a white dress than any other color. Hmmmmm. I know I will be watching the top 5 tonight to see who is in white.

Miss America makes her runway debut tonight on TLC, 5pm Pacific Time.
Get out your crowns!

Last weekend, Allie and Elizabeth decided they wanted to do a sewing project, so we headed over to Hancock Fabrics and $64 later (I bought wayyyyy too much fabric), we started these...

Here's Allie very carefully sewing on her seam binding, only to cut it off later because she thought it was too long. It's too "Duggar," she said. Well, at least she got some practice with seam binding.

They are very proud of the final product and announced they would wear their aprons when they work at the 7th grade class spaghetti feed next week.

If you are thinking you'd like to tie on a cute apron of your own, visit Funky Vintage Kitchen on Etsy.com where April Kennedy makes and sells the cutest aprons. I am doing a story on April and other local etsy sellers... April also makes cute earrings and rings out of buttons. Czech her out.

Surrendering to Motherhood is nothing.

So I’d finally gotten back into the groove at work after my holidaze and then — wham — I got all distracted all over again.

A mom I recently met told me about a blog that really inspired her. You should read about Nie Nie, my new mom friend said.

Poncho!

This is Poncho, a chihuahua AMH walked yesterday at the shelter. Isn't
he cute? He was ery frisky and puppy like and the good news is he has
been adopted. Those are AMHs boots, the only part of her I was
permitted to photograph.

Holidazed

I took two weeks off this Christmas and now my brain’s gone to mush.

After all the holiday eating, shopping, running to and from grandparents’ houses and opening presents under multiple Christmas trees, I barely remembered my pre-vacation life. Napa Valley Register? Oh yes, that place where I worked in early December. Fun place. But vacation was so much more fun.

The MOJO car.

Hanging out in Santa Rosa today and we found this fabulous art car on Fourth Street. It's the Mojo Car! The Ford Escort is covered in religious and other icons. There's definitely a pattern -- it's not just random pieces glued on.

The Mojo car even has it's own website with FAQ. Check it out at:
